Cloud On-Ramp: Direct Connections to AWS, Microsoft, Google, IBM & More
In response to the growing uptake of hybrid cloud strategies, global data center operators are rapidly forming partnerships with major cloud providers to provide private, direct connections to the cloud. With the launch of Cloudscene’s on-ramps feature this month, users now have access to exclusive data on the location of over 180 cloud on-ramps connecting to Amazon Web Services (AWS), Microsoft Azure, Google Cloud, IBM Softlayer, Oracle Cloud, VMWare, Rackspace and Alibaba Cloud.
The on-ramps data available on Cloudscene also reveals which data center operators are providing access to on-ramps. Currently, there are 35 data center operators spanning twenty countries who are providing direct connections to the cloud.
The market share of the major cloud providers showed some interesting differentiation cross-region for North America, Europe and Asia Pacific as we revealed in a recent blog post. Globally, AWS accounts for 32% with a total of 59 direct connections, Google Cloud holds a 21% share and is followed by IBM SoftLayer and Microsoft Azure both with 16% respectively.Search for direct connections on Cloudscene.
